FAQs

What is saddle fitting?

It is the professional adjustment of the saddle, taking into account the horse, the rider, and the saddle as a whole.

How can you tell if your saddle is suitable for your horse or properly fitted?

A poorly fitted saddle can seriously affect your horse’s well-being, behavior, and performance. Warning signs can be physical (such as changes in musculature or sensitivity), behavioral (discomfort when ridden, resistance, nervousness), or work-related (difficulty moving freely, bucking, or disobedience).

If you notice discomfort, changes in attitude, or problems while riding, it’s time to check your saddle fit!

How often should the saddle be checked?

It is recommended to check at least once a year, or whenever there are changes in the horse’s or rider’s physique.

Do I need to ride the horse during the evaluation?

Yes, for a complete evaluation, observation in movement with the rider mounted is included, whenever possible.

Can you adjust any type of saddle?

Yes, I work with all types of saddles: dressage, jumping, endurance, general-purpose, etc. The important thing is to adapt each one to the specific horse-rider partnership, whenever possible.

How long does a full evaluation take?

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the case and whether the rider also needs to be assessed.

Does the visit require any preparation?

Yes. The horse must be clean, with hooves checked, and the saddle ready for use. A safe space is also needed to observe the horse in movement (arena or suitable area).

Can I have several saddles evaluated during the same visit?

Yes, but an extra fee will apply for each additional saddle. Please let me know in advance to organize the time.

Do you also do reflocking (stuffing panels) or repairs?

I carry out minor adjustments and technical assessments. For major interventions, I collaborate with specialized professionals. Premium materials are used (for example, pure Jacob wool).

What happens if my saddle cannot be adjusted?

In that case, I will give you clear and objective recommendations to find an alternative that suits both you and your horse.

Do you offer online consultations?

I do not offer online consultations, as for a safe, complete, and professional evaluation it is essential to observe the saddle in situ, assess directly the interaction between horse and rider, and carry out specific tests with the saddle on the horse’s back. Each case is unique, and an in-person evaluation allows me to ensure that the adjustment is precise, functional, and respectful of both anatomies.
